Why and How our team was created?
About 4 years ago at the age of 8 I learned that Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers had Juvenile Diabetes. Being as young as I was I did not know a whole lot about this.
I then spent hours on the internet researching . I also hounded my mom to take me to the library to check out books on the subject. After countless trips to the library I saw how many young people and adults that it affected and I decided "I'm not just going to sit and do nothing".
That year was my first year (2008) participating in the JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes walking with another team. That year I had raised just over $100.00. The following year, 2009, I decided to create my own team consisting of our friends and family and name it after my inspiration, Team Nick J. That year I was up to almost $300.00. Last year, 2010, my 3rd year our team raised a total of $1,262.66.
This year, 2011, will be our fourth year, my goal is that as a team we can raise up to $2,000 this year.
